Sweet, the Santa Ritas are in AZ, right? Last summer we hunted the Huachucas for Mtn Kings, but had no luck. Oh, yeah, you think this forum's a ghost town, try the Gopher snake sub-forum.

Yeah the Santa Rita's are in southern Arizona, just south of Tucson. South East of Green Valley. There is a theory that Brian Hubbs brings up in his Mountain Kings book that this local might have some L.p. knoblochi influence. This theory opens itself to a lot of debate. It would help explain the white sides and the red saddles as opposed to the red bands of most Pyro's, but not all of the Santa Ritas, even from the same clutch look this way. Who knows. Either way, the Santa Rita Mt. Pyros are my personal favorite of all the Pyro locals.
Thanks,
-Phil
