How long after copulation does ovulation occur on average?

It all depends. It can take months. When they breed, the female stores the sperm until her follicles are done developing. Then she ovulates and becomes gravid. That's why the designated "breeding season" is 6 months long. Keep putting a male with her until they show no more interest in each other.
