Hello,
I have a male greybanded king and a female corn I was anticipating trying to cross this spring. Has this been done using the king male and corn female? If so, were tricks required to get the job done??
Thanks!

i dont know any specifics but i have seen pictures of the offspring and they looked pretty amazing. i do believe that the ones i seen weree f2 babies and that the f1's looked alot more like corns.
the only problem i could see is that alterna are stubborn feeders as hatchlings and this could pass on in the hybrid babies. i would say you are going about it right using a male king with a female corn you could possibly get a larger clutch and possibly larger babies which inturn could yield babies that eat better. i say go for it and keep us updated!! next year of course.

This cross will most likely require some amount of tricking, you would probably need a female alterna to get the male interested.
I hope to do a similar cross, with a male alterna phase grey band to an amel jungle corn. Should prove interesting.
