What is a black corn?

tsusnakeguy Oct 17, 2006 03:56 PM

I have seen cornsnakes called black corn before and they look almost exactly like one that I got a year ago. It is a grey color with some little bits of lavender look to it. It was sold to me as a "mutt" but it looks a lot like the ones I have seen called black corns. I have been told they are not anerys or charcoals so I am just curious does anyone have experience with these.

black corns or black albinos are anerythristic corn snakes.
But, I can think of maybe 6 possibilities
1) anery A
2) anery B or charcoal
3) they either had no idea what they were talking about or lying.
4) black rat snake
5) an emoryi, intermontana or meahllmorun (to keep from going too deep into genetics... great plains rat snakes)
6) kisatchie. Hmmmm..considered a locale specific corn for a while, speculated to be a naturally occuring cross between corns and emoryis but now separated as Pantherophis slowinski.

this is just general information speculating on possibilities.
If you could post pictures we could probably clear it up rather easily.
