>>ok i came my eastern and it appear to have a dry shell look is that ok? down the centrals, costals and also looks like it has white marking on it. is it because of winter and the humidty or anything.bc i keeping my yearling and juveniles in this year any thought? thanks
When mine look dry my first thought is always OMG I'm not giving them enough vitamins in their food.. then I realize it's almost always dry here, I live in the desert so then I think to myself DUH LOL.
I give them vitamins/minerals in their food on a regular basis so I know they're getting what they need.
They tend to look more dry than ever when they spend a lot of time outdoors. Last year Shell E especially looked dry so I thought to myself since people use "Stress Coat" the water conditioner made for aquarium fish in their frog water & dunk their hermit crabs in it too.. why not use it in the turtle bath water? I did that & it worked. She stopped looking dry within a couple of weeks or so.
If it won't harm a hermit crab or a sensitive fish or frog, it can't hurt a turtle.
If the diet is fine then maybe a little water conditioner is all you need like Shell E needed.
