Just curious if you all would not mind mentioning some sizes of your yearling milk snakes. I have not measured mine exactly reccently, just out of eyeing them up, but I'm usually within an inch or two.
Black Milks: These animals are given a heat pad for a 2-3 days after they eat but otherwise are just kept at room temp of about 72F.
Male: SA zoo heritage. 28-30". Fed variably, but on average 1x-2x a week. Colors fading remarkably fast with each shed at this point.
Female: This one is a John Cherry animal. Even longer and bulkier than the male - 30-32". Fed the same.
Andean Milk: I have one male at around 24" or so. He's not quite the eater the black milks are but I have nothing to complain about either. He also went missing for about 5 weeks so that didn't exactly give him a head start on growth. His colors seem to be getting even brighter, still has great contrast.
I also have a 2 year old black milk that is completely black, including the belly. He must also be pushing 50". I got him as a yearling from Keith Hilson, who included some pics back in January of him. Here's some pics of him from back in March and April, at around 16 months old. He's getting BIG.
These are my first milks, having kept kings, corns, and bulls for about 9 years. I really like 'em. Thanks guys, take it easy.
