wise investment?

ballfreak Oct 18, 2006 09:36 AM

what would you all consider to be a wise investment to someone new to the ball market? please list a few morphs to start out with to possibly make a small return and in the mean time gain a few other new morphs after breeding? thanks for all posts!

you will get the experience of raising them and then you can buy a male morph a year or two into it and by the time your girls are ready so will the male wich will probably be cheaper in two years than now.

If I were to start over again I would buy about 20 fresh CH females a year ahead of any morphs. Right now I have plenty of morph/het males but not enough females to breed them to. All of my males are only going to 2-4 females.

As for which is a good morph to get into, that really depends on your budget and what you like. It might take longer, but you can't go wrong with recessives. I would go for a male pied and a few het females. They have been around a long time but they are still, and always will be in demand. I would also pick up a couple pastel females for crosses.

I would agree on normal females or females in general.

I got lucky and came across a number of older bigger normal females before I ever even got my albino. So when he was ready I had girls that were ready to go. I see alot of people who are in GREAT need of big females because they have the male and nothing they can breed it with. You can get a male up to breeding weight very fast usually where as females can take around 2-3 years before they will even produce.
