What happened to the Derma Ball?
Has it been proven out to be genetic?
Haven't seen any extreme capital letters about it recently (wink wink), so I was just curious...

I sure hope it turns out to be genetic. Its one of the few exciting things that doesn't get lost in the background noise thats out there nowadays.
I don't think the het females would have been old enough to breed this year, if he has any het females, probably next year.
Contrary to most, I sure hope it is genetic

Doesn't anyone think it's a bit weird that he was barking so loud in the beginning and now nothing? We were bombarded daily with posts about the Derma, then he dissapeared. Though I will admit that I am curious too.

I agree. After all the talk and capital letters and boasting, he dissapeared and hasn't said anything...
That's why I posted...

At the beginning of spring he posted that the Derma was breeding some normal girls. But he has not reported anything since. When he originally posted the Derma - he said he had Mom - not sure why he wouldn't breed him back to mom - I even asked when he posted it was breeding but the question went unanswered.
I agree - with the previous in you face posts about the snake makes me wonder if he bred it to death or didn't get anything (eggs) from it. I'm sure there is someone out there that knows.
The siblings that he had for sale for $30K should be up to size for breeding this season or next - so if it is still alive we should hear something - or not.

Here is the original picture of the Derma Ball. I love this little guy, I hope he is doing well.

Pretty awesome though if it's still alive!

I just stared at that picture for a couple minutes,,,,,,and finally managed to snap myself out of it. Yikes, that looks like something from a horror movie
...dead snake.
Last i heard the Derma was doing very well , pounding food , and breeding ... I guess we will see next year if its genetic. I have heard of others that have "Derms" though, so manybe it is genetic

the parents of new morphs dont have to care the gene or the sibs for that matter. new genes can pop up in just a single animal and be passed on from there. for a new gene to just show up in both mother and father at the same times is unlike.
