...My males do get more active when they think it is breeding season. Whether this is related to them experiencing cooler temperatures or detecting pheromeones from females or the presence of other males or perhaps something else I do not know. Even when my males are at their horniest chasing a female around the cage or trying to shove another male around they are not more inclined to strike at humans. Could there be something very different in the new cage such as high temperature or noxious odors or bugs or vibrations that have the snake upset? Going off feed could be related to breeding season. Mine often go without eating from the time I start cooling them until the females are gravid. They will also go off feed if something is causing stress.

>>I am wondering if anyone has ever had a snake that was the nicest snake ever, never tried to bite and was never mean, and then all of a sudden got a little pissy. The differences are I have moved him to a smaller cage but better conditions and also there is a female near by for the first time in his life. Has anyone had a male get tempermental when a female is within scent range?
