Peruvian BCC cycling

Jburrut Oct 20, 2006 05:11 AM

Hi,

I've got one female that I'd say is ready to go this year...I've bred surinames before but it's just been a while I think since 2002...I did go exactly by the boa manual, which is if I can't get anymore info is how I'm going to try and breed them this year.

I just didn't know if there were any helpful hints from anyone with experiance with the BCC locals on breeding?

Any additional information would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Jesse

pretty Boa...i read that they breed in lower temps of the cycle, like around low 60's and that older animals are more sucsessful "6 and 7"...im raising a pair and i plan on breeding them when the time comes...

Is that true? Do BCCs need to be temp cycled? Or will they, like BCI, breed without cycling?

That of course is always going to be an ongoing debate...i am cooling and cutting daylight hours now and will be misting (to simulate rainy season) in another week or so to reintroduce in November. Let's just hope for success.

They will in fact breed without cycling..BUT...I have found that cycling does help with the females receptiveness.
