hello all users of this forum! I am now in my fourties and have had many different lizzards over the years. The only thing is I have never owned a Uro. I have heard great things about them, but know virtually nothing about them. If anyone could give me some tips and/or suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

They're tough as nails but you have to follow the basic rules. The rules are spelled out well in Doug's & other websites.
Just don't skrimp on cage design. Temps, basking & ambient, control the lizard. And diet has to be a good mix between "seeds" & greens. I'd advise leave out the insects.
For new lizards, I'd not provide a cool side hide. They have a habit of choosing it for retreat & then don't warm up enough to come back out very often to feed adequately. Keep the hide on the hot end at around 95-100 degrees. Keep the basking spot around 130. I do that by stacking.
Snakes are so much easier...

Welcome Mike32!!
I'm sure you've noticed you can get some good info here. Uros are great "pets" once you get their house set up they are pretty easy to take care. Just like any other pet they have their own personalities too.
They are sometimes skittish, but regardless they aren't biters. I've only been bit twice, and that because he was hungry and he got my finger with the food. Check out a few care sheets for set-up etc. get it set-up and bring it home. You will love Uros!!!
Just make sure to have a lid on your cage they love to escape if at all possible. They are smart too, they won't try it while you're there. They don't want to give away their tricks. There are some differences between WC and CB, I've had both. Someone stole my only CB after 6 months, my other two are WC. All are full of personality and very loveable.
ENJOY!!!
