I can recomend a book: The Green tree Python and Emerald Tree Boa by Ron Kivit and Stephen Wiseman. Signal Herpetoculture sells it on their web site. It's written in Germany where they believe in keeping the locales pure. Many pics on how to tell on hatchlings as well as adults.

Greg Maxwell's book has them as well. He might have something on his website as well. I know he has care sheets and building plans but I'm not sure about the locales.

Check out "The Green Tree Python and Emerald Tree Boa Care, Breeding and Natural History" By Ron Kivit + Stephen Wiseman.

The authors group animals by variants (locales) and show eaxamples of the neos, mature animals and tails. A color plate for identifying neonates by pattern is included.

Maxwell's current printing of "The More Complete Chondro" offers more variant/locality ID's than the "The Complete Chondro".
