Panamanian sizes?

ghireptiles Oct 21, 2006 10:22 AM

Hey everyone,

I am curious as to the sizes of your Panamanians that are from the first shipment of last year (june '05) so post pics if you have them. This is one of my females and I would say that 4 of my 7 animals are this size (2.2) with another 1.2 being just a hair smaller. The 4 larger animals are on either 'big' mediums or 'small' large rats.

WOW, mine are on weanling rats now. They are back home, so I'll have to check on their current size. When I left in August they were on adult mice. I know they are WAY smaller than yours. Long and skinny snakes.

Hey Matt,

I sold mine, but the last time I saw them at their new home, they were also growing fast ... maybe its all the great fresh air in Florida and those big rats you feed them .... but mine also seemed to be growing way faster than my other Central American boas ( Nics, Hondurans, EL Salvador, Mexican, etc) ... personally, I believe the mainland forms of Panamanian BCI can grow almost as big as some of their smaller Colombian neighbors ... however the "island type" (and I use that term very loosely) are a lot smaller ... the 3 sub adults I got from you, (which I would term B.c.sabogae or island type) were much smaller in width and grew much slower ... they are now hanging out in NY with Vin Russo.

All the best with producing some of those Hypo, Reverse Stripes !!

cheers, John

My boy "Jack" isn't nearly that big. He's about 28 inches long chowing on rat pups.
