Super sappy cypress tree in snake cage

yvonbug Oct 22, 2006 12:42 PM

My boss put a sappy, freshly cut cypress tree in our snake room. It's about 10ft. tall. It lays at a slant. It's kinda neat looking except that the darn thing is covered in sap! And I've got to step over this thing to attend to the cage and their needs. A python (16ft.) and a boa (12ft.) share this cage. The tree has made it difficult to exit if I ever needed to in a hurry. Do the snakes like sap? Or even cypress?

i actually had something like this happen without thinking - the sap made the newspaper stick to my burm - it was next to impossible to pick the paper off and wash the snake completely clean- it really took a shed to get all of it off, your snakes will be fine but, it will probably result in a lot of material getting stuck to them - i'd talk to him about taking it out
