A&W ...my new rootbeer

draybar Oct 22, 2006 03:09 PM

This is A&W
He is a new male rootbeer (meahllmorun/corn) het hypo.
I got him in a trade with Terry Cox. Thanks Terry!
He will be used to infuse more "non-corn" into my cinnamon lines.
Cinnamons are emroyi/corn crosses expressing hypomelanism.
I use emoryi only because up until now there really hasn't been any distinction between emoryi/corn crosses, intermontana/corn crosses or meahllmorun/corn crosses.
They have all just usually been lumped under emoryi.
I will also attach a couple shots of cinnamons.
A&W:

.

.

.
Shana, Toast and Cinni in that order.
ENJOY

Hey, Jimmy. Looks like he's adjusting well to his new environment. I haven't taken any pix, yet, of my new cinnamon.

That last photo of yours, "Cinni", sure is nice. Can you tell us what kind of pairing you did to get that one? Thanks...

The two pictured above Cinni, Shanna and Toast are the parents.
I have several cinnamons from this season that I think are going to look like that.
The parents were both possibly het amel and at first I thought cinni was amel hypo but the eyes aren't red so I don't think that is the case. I just think Shanna and Toast throw some beauties.
Swan is from the same breeding project as Shanna and Toast just a year later. Hopefully she will throw some beauties too.

not a great picture but one of this seasons hatchlings

Very nice, Jimmy. Does the one you sent me have a name? Is she related to the above snakes?

I also have a hypo Miami corn that I'm going to try and breed into my generic "western" corn line. I'm hoping for a smaller western corn with light gray or brown ground color and with reddish blotches. I might cross them with an amel one day too.

Good luck with your new breeding projects.

Hey Terry, her name is Swan.
I just have a habit of naming all my keepers although a few have names like H106...lol
Unfortunately I didn't dig too deeply when I got them, but I am pretty sure that Swan came from the same parents as Toast (for cinnamon toast...lol) the male pictured above.
And I am also pretty sure she is 37.5% emoryi.
I think the Miami mix should yeild some interesting results.
