I recently tried a switch on a lot of my snakes from big fuzzies (well, almost hoppers) to rat pups and all took the bait. What surprised me most was my w.c. suboc. She slammed two her first sitting! I guess I shouldn't be that surprised because she has never refused a meal. I thought it would be difficult, now I just have to convince the big fellah, he is one picky eater!

5 out of 6 of my Subocs are on rat pups and they are aggressive strikers with these.

As you know, the large WC subocs are sometimes picky when you don't have Kangaroo Rats to start them feeding.

The large WC I got in September,however, went right after rat pups!
I also found something large ones can't seem to resist, pigeon nestlings.
I freeze them for 40 days to insure all parasites are killed.

Have you tried gerbils or gerbil scenting? I had a WC ball python I purchased as an adult. The ONLY thing she ate were gerbils. They apparently are very similar in scent to the kangaroo rats.
Nice suboc pics. I've had a couple over the years, but never seem to hold on to them LOL!!
That's good to know, Bill, thanks! Now I have another option for the big guy. I think I'll call him Morris, he's so finicky!
