Another great set of pics showing the different color stages. Nice looking jelly. I think you have some peanut butters also? I really love those beauties.

I can't recall now... Is that a male or female NE? Didn't you get a female this year and that was last years male?

Help and old mans fading memory.

ZFelicien Oct 23, 2006 01:47 PM

Yep that's an `05 male i got the female this season and i think she'll look better than he does (her bands are ultra thin)... he's only a yearling and most of his black is gone...

Beautiful Axanthic Zenny. I like how you saved old pics so you could do a timeline. I have an 04 New England Axanthic male, but I didn't have him as a hatchling. Purchased him when he was about a around a year old. Would have been neat to see mine when he had more black on him as a baby.
If your beauty came from Rainer, mine may be related to yours. My 04 male came from Brandon Osborne, and Brandon had him listed as Bluerosy stock. So i'm not sure if Brandon has some adults from Rainer that produced mine, or if Brandon outright purchased my male from Rainer. Anyway, they are awesome snakes, and yours my friend, is an absolute beauty.

you got it... Bluerosy stock... and i trust that this stock may be the ONLY one out there not tainted with Lemke Axanthic (yes they are allelic... but there is a difference)... There was a BIG name breeder selling Axanthics as New England strain and upon speaking to him i found out they were an outcross...

this is one of my favorite mutations!

Beautiful Zenny, I waited a year to get my pair. I first saw pictures of these posted by Rainer last year and could not believe my eyes. I mean a BLUE snake. They were mesmerizing. They have to be my favorite morph, I can't wait till their big enough to breed. Kevin

ZFelicien Oct 24, 2006 08:13 AM

Thanx Kevin... i still want that NE het female you picked up... i can't wait to see how she turns out!!

You know the het hypo acts kinda odd, I'm still using your trick with the rat tails to feed it and it has put on a little size. However, the snake acts like it is retarded. It's hard to explain but with the rat tail in its mouth it shakes its head back and forth like it doesn't know how to swallow it. I also watched it try to shed and it was like it didn't know what to do to get its skin off. After a few days I finally had to help it. But on another note the het N.E. is a real beaut! Kevin

bluerosy Oct 23, 2006 12:29 PM

Very nice!

Do you know whos line? Krysco?

ZFelicien Oct 23, 2006 01:53 PM

i haven't the slightest clue on the originator... all i know is i got the him from Tom Agosta... and i missed out on his sibling male by seconds which was florescent RED from head to tail with a completely yellow patternless belly...

Great series of pics Zenny. Glad you mentioned so many combo morphs have not even been produced as I think many keepers overlook these gorgeous snakes and I just don't understand why? I will always keep a ton of them here....someday I will have to get busy with my camera again but I just have too many babies at the moment. Nice work. Tom Stevens

Thanx Tom

when i started to list possibilities for these i was amazed as to how many complex mutations ARE possible, some that we could have seen a very long time ago...

I'll keep working with these... i think interest will pick up once new things pop out!

Zenny,
Why do you have that one you have listed as a Poss "Het." PB Female?

It looks like PB to me. Even if it is not , it still would not be a poss het because I bred PB males to het females. SO all came out hets..

..confusing this gene isn't it.

Here is a pic of when I first posted these things:

Timeline on those three, please!?
