If i was thinking of trying my hand on a chondro but wanted to immerese myself in it's husbandry should i buy The Green Tree Python and Emerald Tree Boa: Care, Breeding and Natural History, Second Extended Edition by Ron Kivit, Stephen Wiseman, Andreas Kirschner
or

The More Complete Chondro by Greg Maxwell?

For reference i am a moderatly accomplished Herpetology Grad student that has had a fair share of husbandry in the past and currently (primarily lizards); and my roomate and college is top notch when it comes to snakes and captive care. If you have something hot in your collection (that you bought) there is a fair chance he's held it

Both of those books are well worth the money. I have both Greg's books, the Complete chondro and his newer version. Very complete.

I own both the Kivet and Maxwell books and find them both excellent sources of information. If you are interested more in the husbandry and anecdotal information that has been gathered up over the years of keeping then I'd go with the Maxwell book.

The Kivet Book covers both the Emerald Tree Boas and the Green Tree Pythons. It is more scientific data and history in addition to basic husbandry.

Both books have excellent photography and in you'll probably have both in your library eventually... but, for starters, I think The Complete Chondro will have everything you need to feel comfortable with the gtps in your home!
