why, oh why

Why must he poo in his cage all the time? Luke has a 5' tall, 3 1/2' wide, 3' deep enclosure that is 75 degrees on the cool side and 95 in his basking spot. He has 2 merc vapor lamps, 2 flouresent bulbs, and a basking bulb. He eats well. He eats collards, mustard greens, yellow squash, and occasionally wax beans, sweet potato, or whatever else i can whip up- i know what is bad vs. what is good. He gets bathed daily, sometimes twice if he makes a mess of his poo in his cage. I spend a good portion of my day cleaning up after him and making sure everything is perfect. I just don't know what else to do.

I'm really getting sick of cleaning the poo. I took a fecal to the vet, and there is nothing abnormal about the poo. I checked all my timers and replaced all my bulbs last month. The food is fresh and the water is clean. I'm not going to be home all the time to clean up the poo much longer, I need to go back to work tomarrow. Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance

Maybe you need to set your timers earlier, say, six am, so he's all warmed up and ready to go to the tub before you have to leave. Bud is sometimes tub trained, and sometimes not, and becomes untrained EVERY time I have to go away and leave him with the petsitter. The best cure for this that I have found is being consistant. Put him in the tub at 7:30 every morning, leave him there for about the same time, do the same things and say the same things when you take him to the bath... Then, you can leave him in extra long and massage him at night.

If there is nothing wrong with his poop, it's not going to do any harm to leave it be (wherever it may be) for the day while you're at work, just as long as you clean it up as soon as you get home. I've invested in some really good carpet cleaner. :{

What time of day do you put him into the bath? It's possible that it doesn't coincide with his natural pattern. Maybe he's just not ready to go when you put him in the tub, and he just goes when he needs to? Pay close attention to the times of day he goes, and put him in the tub then. Once you get him pooping in the tub regularily, you can try to manipulate him a little to have him going to the bathroom when it's more convinient for you and your schedule.

Meh, just a thought!
