enclosure mesh help

rlpc117 Oct 23, 2006 06:33 PM

Hi there, I'm wondering what type of mesh you guys use in your enclosure? I'm trying to find a hard but bendable mesh, like the one people use for screen top, but I cannot find it, I tried home depot and other hardware store, but i cannot find it, they only have the aluminum wire mesh which is too soft (for screen window use), where do you guys get it?

Sounds like your looking for hardware cloth. It comes in 1/4" and 1/2" spacing. Home depot should have it.

Ha, that's it. I didn't know it's called hardware cloth the whole time, maybe that's why I can't find it. Thanks a ton!!

When properly supported aluminum screen is very strong. The fiberglass stuff is pretty soft, maybe it was in the wrong bin. Crickets can chew through fiberglass, just a word of caution.

I think aluminum screen is what you are looking for but hardware cloth maybe another option.

For hardware cloth - take a look in the fencing or garden section, usually outside at Home Depot. In other types of hardware stores, it might be near chicken wire. Hope you find what you need!
