A Bateater is a Burmese/Retic hybrid.

IMHO, hybrids like these are crimes against nature, but to each his own.

I actually think Bat-eaters are gorgeous. Way over-priced but drop dead gorgeous.

if u breed it to your burm - it would be a jungle burm - breed it back to a retic, then a jungle retic - since you burm is albino, no has produced an albino bateater yet ....

Bateaters are the result of breeding a Burmese to a retic. To make an albino however has not been accomplished. The genes of the amelanism of the burmese and the retic do not cross and therefore you actually produce bateaters double het for albino burm and albino retic. To my knowledge no one has successfuly bred one het back to an albino burm or an albino retic to see if they can male a jungle albino bateater.
Many people think they are overpriced as mentioned further down in this thread but if you try to make them for a few years with different burms and retics and keep getting infertile eggs year after year as is usually the case, perhaps you would change your mind. It takes just the right pairing of burm to retic to make good babies. and even then your fertility rate is poor.so mass producing them has proven to be impossible... thats why there are so few out there.
