ok, i know turtles looove snails and all, but how the heck are they supposed to eat them? I mean, nails are like turtles.....the can get into a shell. If the snail is bigger that the turtles head, it shouldn't be able to break the shell right? I was just wandering.

I have no idea, but am glad you asked this. I was wondering the same thing. We've had a snail in w/ ours for a few weeks now and so far he hasn't hurt it. Our RES is only 2-3 inches though. I think he might knock it off the wall sometimes, not sure if by accident or not, but that's about it.

Hope someone answers this.

Heres how I think it would work out. If the snail went entirely in its shell, it would fall off the glass. Then the turtle would only have to start breaking the shell at the hole where it wouldnt be so strong, but I guess it all depends on what kind of snail.
