Hypo Pastels....Define?

ghackney Oct 25, 2006 09:36 AM

What does it take to call a boa hypo pastel? Is there certain criteria?
I bred my Super to what I thought was a pastel and got these... These are some females I'm keeping...
Opinions please...

I would define them as pretty freakin awesome. I'd buy them up in a heart beat. Im no expert but I would call them hypo pastels.... Jon

Hypo Pastel = Hypo Pastel (bloodline)

Bloodline is implied.

Since "pastelism" is defined by reduced black, I dont think we can't accurately judge it with the hypo mutation applied. The primary function is the color regardless, which passes through to the bloodline.

IS what separates the true pastel whatevers from the super-clean-light-pretty neo counterparts that darken and dirty up tremendously with age. A true pastel gets better with age.

As Ryan said, knowing the animals are a product of a proven bloodline takes the guessing out of the picture. Certain lines have proven themselves. Then again there are SMOKING animals produced from unknown lineages every day.... but to honestly say they are "pastels" depends, in the long run, on how they develop.

Are yours pastel hypos? I do not know for sure, but they look very, very nice, and better than a lot of the f1 hypos on the market now. Keep the pics coming so we can all see how they develop. My bet is they are.

Jesse
