responding to "Chamowners" thread below....

I am barely hanging onto to being 37 (my birthday is next month)
I work in a hospital in the Radiology department, but most often in the MRI.
I have one male vieled chameleon, Zoe. He is 2.5 years old, and c/b. He's my little baby. It's been a roller coaster with this guy...but he's made it so far, and is VERY special to me.
I have one Prehensile tailed skink, almost definately a female, named Dill. Her age is unknown, but is estamated to be about 4 years. It is also unknown whether she is c/b or w/c... Some knowledgeable skink people suspect she may even be "with child" which would be SO wonderful!!!
I also have 2 cats, 2 gerbils, 2 fish, and a dog...as well as 2 human children.

I know I mentioned my age earlier but didn’t give all my stats:

**I am 48 (49 in October - Yikes!)
**Have no chameleons as you all know
**I am, however OWNED by two cats: Kyndra, a torti and Líta a Russian Blue
**Rose, is an arboreal pinktoe Tarantula that I rescued from a PetCo back in Feb. 2003 (after a bad date! Ha-ha! )
**I currently have 12 luna and over 40 cecropia moth caterpillars who are happily munching away on their food plants or spinnig their cocoons! (5 luna have spun up 
**I work for myself (that's why I am ALWAYS online(!) as a mechanical designer which helps to pay the bills while I go to school for Ecological Literacy and Education.
**I am a degreed horticulturist, have a seasonal Ecological Garden Design and Consultation business
** I live in the sticks of NH on 5 acres 3 of which are conservation land

AND......I talk too much! My posts are always so damn lengthy! But I am glad that Ethan started this thread. It is fun to get to know everyone since we sure do spend a lot of time together. In the months I have been frequenting this forum it has changed a lot and currently we seem to have a lot more younger folk among us. Hopefully we can all "do right" by each other and keep passing along good information, minimal speculation and respect each other. I think knowing the age is crucial in how we interpret many of these posts so let's continue to make this a solid, learning community...OK, I'll shut up now

Oh, one last thing...am I really the oldest? Does that make me Den Mother :/

and now it will be your responsibility to dispense sage advice to all these young whippersnappers in here.

And it will also be your responsibility to share bad date stories with ME!

I wish I lived on some acerage. I have a 12x12 slab of concrete for a yard. I live in a townhome/condo like thing right now and it's not working for me. I feel cramped but it is near my gallery so it will have to do for now.

Lele,

Sorry..... but you are not the oldest poster.
I'll wager a bunch that I am..... and my hubby is older yet (but doesn't post in this forum).

No need for apologies! I've been the "den mother" or "wise woman" many times so I happily hand it over to you, Morgana

I have a three legged cat that had cancer.
He had osteo sarcoma at about 1 year old. They amputated the leg and sent him home with me. They did not expect him to live much longer since they expected it to spread since he had a very aggressive form of cancer. That was eight years ago and he is still here and can get around so well you don't even notice the leg is missing. His name is Fisher I have another cat named Sabrina too.
I always end up with the "special" pets

Wow! That is wonderful to hear your cat's story! My dog was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in February, her leg was amputated shortly thereafter and we just finished her last chemo treatment a few weeks ago. I'm praying that she keeps on tickin'...she's my girl...went to college with me and everything. Her name is Trina (hence part of my name on here), and she's 9 years old now...but don't tell her that since she thinks she's about 3...talk about puppy-ish...wow...she gets around so well, wrestles and romps with our other dog, etc. She had a front leg amp'd and that is much harder, so she is doing awesome.

Anyway, thanks for sharing! It's great to learn of these common bonds...pretty neat.

My cat never even got chemo treatments that is what makes it so amazing! I think he just didn't know he was supposed to die.
