Floating problem

Bushmaster Oct 25, 2006 04:21 PM

A friend of mine has a small snaping turtle and these days the turtle is floating in its aquarium. All other things, including apetite are normal. Anyone knows what this could be? Thanks

Is the turtle able to dive normally? If not it could be (most likely is) a respiritory problem.

check out austinsturtlepage.com under medical conditions. it could be a respiratory infection or if he is fed too much it could be a gastrointestinal problem. i've had a turtle that had problems with the latter and i'd lower the water level (so he wouldn't drown) and in a day or two he'd be alright.
