Another question about lighting.....

keith_ecko Aug 06, 2003 06:28 PM

Okay when you setup your enclosure I know that your supposed to have a basking spot on one side..a cooler spot on the other...Now in a 55 gallon which is the least I'd buy where is the fluerescent fixture placed? Right next to the basking light? And some fixtures are as long as the tank...some are shorer...Should I buy a fixture the length of the 55 gallon tank taking into consideration that under normal circumstances the basking spot will be elevated to reach the desired distance from the UV bulb and the rest of the tank will be lower below that.....Any input would be cool! And images you got would also help!..THANKS!

I would get a tube that runs the length of the tank. I would get it at home depot. I would put 1 bulb from home depot in it and a reptisun 5.0 in the other slot. For heat I would get a 90 W halogen flood bulb from home depot also. I like the halogens, they are nice and bright.
