PVC sheet source?

Djinn Oct 26, 2006 12:19 AM

Hello~ I was wondering where people are getting the sheets of pvc used for building cages. Does a place like Home Depot, Fleet Farm, or Menards carry them? I don't plan on getting into the cage building buisness, but it would be nice to get some sheets of this stuff to use as a floor in my exising wood cages..

Thanks for any info!

Once in a while you can find thicker sheet goods at Farm and Fleet. They are used in hog confinements. But it's not PVC and it's very heavy.

If you're just lining cage floors, you should be able to find thin Sintra or another brand of expanded PVC at just about any plastic distributor if you live in or near a larger city. If not, then check with local sign shops.

For cage floors I also like scrap linoleum or other vinyl flooring. Wall paneling rated for showers also works well.

Try going to a sign place. If you want to buy it, I'm sure they would sell it to you.

I found one sign place where I can get some stuff for free. They throw away their old signs. It has writing on one side, but it's still PVC board. I have gotten a 4'x8' sheet 1/2", 4'x4' 1/2" and others just for asking.
