Breeding????? Eggs?????

jag Aug 06, 2003 06:58 PM

Is it true that leos can hold sperm for up to 1 year? We have been noticing that Sunshine is getting a nice tummy on her and granted she eats alot but it kinda looks more pushed on the sides than normal. She is well feed so I am not sure if she is preg. I know you can usually see the eggs in the belly, but her yrllow/orange color goes onto her stomach for the most part, or it is to white in other parts and cant see anything. When I was cleaning out her tank I also had my male out he went straight to her and she to him and he licked her face and she did it to him right back, and then he moved to her tail and she moved her tail over but he just licked her tail and kinda nipped at it, was he trying to breed? I dont want them to breed right now at all. I noticed he has been in a crappy mood is it because he wants booty? Please help

Yes females can hold sperm for like 15 months, your males actions sound like breeding behaviour. My two Leo's have spent less than 3 minutes together and that was long enugh for him to do it twice, so keep your eye on them if they come in contact again or else "HATCHLINGS".

It's probably to late if you don't want eggs, I don't think there is any way you can really prevent them from breeding either other then seperate them.
