Since I'm novice to leo breeding

xelda Aug 06, 2003 07:02 PM

I'm completely lost on the terminology of morphs, let alone how to ID different kinds of leos. I know it's a broad topic that no one will want to sit down and explain to me. Are there any key breeder's sites that will help me learn about this stuff?

I have two normals. I love them both, and think they're the coolest in the world. They're certainly the prettiest lizards I've ever had. But I guess they wouldn't raise any eyebrows in here.

at how many people here love the normal phase Leo, I for one am one of them. As for different morphs descriptions just search around the forum using different keywords such as: Albino, Tangerine, High Yellow, Stripe, and Jungle to name a couple. The pic below is of my 2 Leo's mating the male is almost a Hypo (10 spots or less) Tangerine and the female is a very beautiful Normal.

I really like your normal female!!! The arrangement of spotting on her head is cool, 3 spots, then a line then 3 more spots. And then that little bit of lavender on her lower back.....wow, i like

You can find definitions of morphs here

Normals are great. This one is actually reduced spotting, but not enough to be called hypo:

But I have a special fondness for albinos

High yellows and normals are my favorate! Sure hypos and tangs are great, but they dont look as prehistoric and natural as normals do. Sorry though i dont really know any sites. Later

Normals are cool! I've heard HY are getting so commong some refer to them as normals but I like them especially the HY lavender I now have 2 and I think they are beautiful.
