Average size...?

reptilenick Oct 26, 2006 11:47 AM

I was wondering what the "average" or typical size is for a male burmese python. How great is the sexual dimorphism?

the difference is usually quite noticeable...however, as in nature, there are always exceptions. Although most male burms will top out at the 12-14 foot range (or less), I have personally seen a male over 16' that was just plain gigantic. I have also seen long term males in the 8-10 foot range. Genetics, environment, feeding schedules all play an important role in what you end up with.
