Bad new for my beardie..sigh

ShaunDuke Aug 06, 2003 07:03 PM

Well, I went in for a checkup from the last one when he was found to have round worms and guess what....the dreaded word just has to come up. They found coccidia and some other parasites that didn't show before in him. I know where it came from now...cross contamination between him and another lizard I had. Sigh..well he's on newspaper and I have industrial strenght non-toxic disinfectant.

Good luck with him, that must really suck, but I'm sure he'll get better, beardies are tough so he'll pull though. Later

I have heard some people on the beardie site that para-zap worked well with decreasing coccidia numbers, I have never used it so you may want to research it and ask your vet & friends, just a thought. GOOD LUCK (at least its not a lgecko with it!)

I'm going to get fecal exams on the Leo's next time I bring in my Beardies sample. I'm going to get them checked out as well. I reallllllllllllllllllly hope Alwen doesn't have it, because she's so small I don't know how well she'll do...this just isn't fair.
