OK, Whats the deal?

BeginnersBasics Aug 06, 2003 07:22 PM

I have seen dragons with less color than mine going for twice the price of mine and yet I am getting "beat up" on price on a $45 dragon??

Honestly folks, would you pay $45 for some of the following? LOL

They actually look better than this in person

actualy i just paid 115 for a draon ot nealry with that kind of color

BeginnersBasics Aug 06, 2003 07:45 PM

LOL Maybe I should charge $100 then let them think they are getting a deal when I say "oh, ok you can have him for $75" hehehehe

Maybe the problem is the low price, they figure they are not good dragons, weak, unhealthy or something?

Those dragons look like they have very nice color, or could grow into really nice color. They seem like they might be about 6" long or so? $45 is more than a fair price!!! I sell perfectly normal dragons to pet shops at 6" for $40, I know I am bad but I sell to little shops that seem to be decent (no deathco or deathmart they have their own providers). Your dragons seem to have better color and the same build. However says you are selling your dragons at an unfair price doesn't have much of a clue. True if you want you can get dragons for $30. I could probably go and get some for $20, but you get what you pay for. Think the people that mass sell dragons for these prices take good care of them??? I don't. I have heard stories about the place that I could get them for $20. Not good. Kinda sucks for breeders to because most don't understand the quality issue. Pet shops laugh at me sometimes. I know where they get their dragons from. I think to myself have a good time with those dragons hopefully you have over a 50% survival rate. Ok enough with this rant. I would charge more if I were you.

Thanks
I wouldn't feel right selling for more. Ok, go ahead YELL AT ME! LOL Even my logo says "Quality animals at reasonable prices".
I am not out to make a "killing" on my babies, I just want good homes for them all and something to offset my costs. But...... I am starting to think that the low prices I ask are making people think these are "not good quality".
My next clutch will be more "competitively" priced (higher) LOL

Honestly, I think the price is too low. Like, how can someone let such a nice dragon go that low? That could just be because I support keeping prices high in efforts to keep parents from buying them for young kids thinking its a disposable pet (ie going the way of the iguauna.)

barker109 Aug 06, 2003 08:26 PM

I don't know because I haven't tried to sell but maybe people think because they don't cost a lot that they aren't that colorful. By the way they ARE very nice. Post those pics and see what happens. Seriously!
Take care,
Karen
