I Love Color

Rick2 Oct 26, 2006 07:17 PM

Hi everyone, wanted to show off some of my collection. First picture is a 05 normal male named Jose produced by Gray Rushin. I acquired him about three weeks ago and he is one of the nicest boas I have seen. He is just a normal but his colors glows. Second picture is a 04 female pastel het anery named Rana. She was produced by John Lokken and I purchased her about 8 months ago from Ryan at Top Notch Boas. When I received her she was very small for her age but has settled in nicely and has gained a lot of size. Her colors have intensified and she is about as purple-pink as it gets. She is an awesome looking girl. The third picture is a snake I purchased as a baby in April of 05 form SR Snakes. She is a 100% het albino and was the runt of the litter at 46 grams. She was also the lightest and cleanest. The amazing thing about this girl is the extreme pink color that she is developing. That’s the fun thing about this hobby, watching babies grow up and seeing how they turn out. I’m hoping to produces extreme colored Albinos in a couple of years with a proven coral stripe line male I have. I haven’t had much practice with the new camera and I hope I was able to capture the color in these boas. Your opinion and comments are appreciated. Thanks.

Rick Douglas.

I hoping to post some more pictures but my account only will allow three right now. By the way what kind of boa is in the picture?

I am not sure what he is.. I got him in a rescue. To me he looks like some sort of mix. I wish I could get a better shot of his colors but can't quite get it yet..

Wow! The color on that one could almost be described as "rich" and "luxurious"...Heck I sound like a cadillac commercial. Extremely nice boa!

Thanks. The first picture of the 05 male is very cool. It’s had to describe his colors but in person he looks like a fluorescent orange. I need to take a better picture of Rana her color is really awesome to.

I didnt recognize who this was at first... I knew upon first glance at the post that I recognized one of the boas though!

She is looking absolutely stunning. I'm really kicking myself for letting go of so many great boas in the past year or two, hoping a good breeding season will make up for it .

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Ryan, I’m sure you are referring to Rana. She’s really developed nicely and has unusual colors. I wouldn’t consider it pink but a really rich mauve purple that keeps getting nicer as she ages. I don’t know if you remember, but she was really small for her age at about two pounds when I received her. She is a great eater and is growing nicely and is about 5 lbs now. I just switched her to large rats about a month ago and she eats 1 every 10 to 14 days and still acts hungry all the time. I’m sure she will defiantly have size to breed next year. I think I recall seeing some pictures of an albino breeding you had posted not to long ago, and I know you have a really nice male Jungle that I would assume you are breeding to one of your other females. I will have about 10 to 13 pairs breeding this year myself and hopefully have a good year. I would really like to know who you are pairing that Jungle with so keep in touch. Anyway best of luck with your breeding efforts this year.

Awesome snakes Rick. I like the sides on the one that you pictured first. What are your plans for that one? Trey Schneller

Thanks Trey. To tell you the truth I don’t know yet. When I saw him I had to have him. He is only a 05, and he isn’t that big so if I tried to breed him this year it’s going to be with a smaller female. I have three red group females that may be an option. I also have a really big orange female but I don’t know if he is big enough for her yet and all of my morphs are spoken for. I am really looking at next year for him.
