Green Frog Ident

eriku Aug 06, 2003 07:51 PM

Walked up to my house and found a green tree frog on the porch. I live in central california in a very dry region so this was odd to me. I picked him up and put him in one of my quarintine vivariums. I've seen brown tree frogs in the area (maybe 10 years ago), but when my roomate saw him, she said she had brought him to the house months ago after she found him in a tree at the Home Depot where she worked. So he was possibly imported on a tree to the area.

He is bright greem, white/tan under belly with a faint stripe from his nose to neck. Eye color is yellow/white. Long thin legs and thin body. I'm assuming it's a younger Green Tree Frog, any other suggestions?

It could be a green tree frog or a squirrel tree frog, or something else. Is there any way you could post any pics? I'd love to see what it looks like

Let's see if it works...

Yup, that's a green! An an interesting specimen because of the lack of the white stripe Very cute!

Anyway, I suggest you keep him inside if you can. If not, I'm sure you can post an ad and someone will buy him off of you (although they don't go for more than a couple of bucks). It may not live in the Central Cali conditions, plus, if it does and finds a mate, it may take over.

Anyway, let me know what you do with the Cutie!
