Long time lurker

boahobbyist Oct 28, 2006 05:24 PM

I have been lurking around here for years and have never posted. I recently purchased a new camera so I just thought I would share a few photos of some of my holdbacks from this year.

Cary, you sound a lot like me. That is a very nice Salmontine and the pictures you took have just the right amount of light to capture the true colors awesome pictures. What kind of camera is it?

boahobbyist Oct 29, 2006 09:27 AM

Thanks, these were taken with a Canon Digital Rebel XT (350D). Of course as soon as I purchased this they announced the new XTi (400D). Story of my life. I have been trying to capture the colors of these animals for weeks and this is as close as I have come but even these photos do not do these animals justice.

I only started taking pictures about 2 months ago. I will take about 50 pictures of a particular animal and usually there is a handful that are really nice and the others are either to light or to dark so I know what you mean about trying to capture the color. I believe I have the same camera a Rebel XT ESO 350D. I am really happy with the pictures it takes. What I have discovered is that if you are in a partially lighted area and use the built in flash that seems to really bring out the colors. One thing about digital you can practice all you want. Good luck.
