Partial Shed?

kcaj Oct 29, 2006 05:17 AM

Hi, When I have a snake that doesn't shed completely I just soak the snake in 75*-80* water for 20 to 30 minutes and then gently remove the stuck skin. My question is , what could the consequences be if nothing at all was done? I only ask because I have never not removed the stuck shed.

jack, the remaining skin can dry on the snake like paint making any future shedding extremely difficult. usually i'll spray a snake if i see this happen & assist it off. btw, i ended up having to remove the right eyecap [there were 2 stuck together] of my huge yt. we started on a table w/ him in his hide but ended up on the floor together. he got his head loose finally & i RAN him back to his cage expecting to get ripped at any moment but he cut me some slack instead. glad that's over! here's a pic of another snake [hywy 277 bull] that's almost as bad as charger.........
