Eastern Hognose feeding on lizards ~

Tektum Oct 29, 2006 11:22 AM

This is a young Eastern Hognose feeding on a Gecko. This snake is fed frogs, toads, mice, lizards and fish. Interestingly, I switched this snake to mice by using chicken broth a scenting agent. These snakes never cease to surprise me. Thanks for looking, Leo

Chicken broth?! Was it heated up or straight out of the can or whatever receptacle broth comes in?

Hey ~ The Chicken Broth was not heated up. Actually, I was in the process of scenting some rats for a finicky Green Anaconda and decided to try it with my Southern Hogs. When that worked, I tried it with my easterns and sure enough they went for it. I was very surprised. Thanks, Leo
