Baby food

blood3319 Oct 29, 2006 08:18 PM

My Ig will not eat right now I was wondering if it is ok to feed him some baby food. I have squash, Nutriton Facts are: Total Carb. 10g, Dietary Fiber 2g, Sugars 4g, Vitamin A- 190%, Calcium 4%, Iron 4%. Can I use this along with other greens and a Ig dry pebble food that i soak in water. He is young by the way. Thanks.

Ryan

Have you taken the ig to a vet? Besides it being breeding season for many igs...there might be an underlying problem for him not to eat. What are the temps in your cage? What is your UVB source? What foods do you feed? Is he acting differently? Is he less active? How old is he?

Critical Care is the best thing to feed for an ig who has gone off it's food for more than a week. Igs can go quite some time without food, but going that long certainly means something isn't right. To help find a vet near you...visit these sites. Be prepared to travel some since herp vets are few and far between. Mine is 73 miles away.

Do you know why the ig isn't eating? Maybe you already have
but instead of force feeding it try and find out what's going
on. If you correct the problems maybe he will eat on his own.
Force feeding is not a cure.

I agree with the last poster. Give us details on the set-up,
diet, lighting, etc.
