I have a few questions about breeding--- ive done tons of research but i want all of your comments on them!!--

1. What is the best egg-laying substrate?
2. What is the best egg substrate for when they are in the incubator--vermiculite?
3. Where should i breed my drags? in the cage on the floor..?
4. whats the avg time for gestation and hatching rate for beardies?

**5.**--If i bred my beardies...lets say...in one week...when do you think the babies would hatch? (haha dont you love math.,, )

We use wet play sand it packs really well so it does not collapse on our beardies when they dig down to lay their eggs. We use vermiculite in our incubators. it is the best. If your bearded dragon was bred today.In about 4 weeks she would lay her eggs. Then, if you incubate your eggs at 84 degrees, you can add another 70 days before they start hatching. for a total of say 95-100 days from now. So, your babies would start hatching the last week in August.

-When my Beardy layed eggs I kept her in a rubbermaid containor with about 8 inches of moist vermiculite/playsand.

2. What is the best egg substrate for when they are in the incubator--vermiculite?

-Yes, that's what I'm useing

3. Where should i breed my drags? in the cage on the floor..?

-I first introduced my pair in their 5 foot cage but separated them immediately because when the male grabbed the female by the neck he would smack her head into the side of the cage and I thought he was gonna snap her neck!
I have found it better to introduce them on the floor...

4. whats the avg time for gestation and hatching rate for beardies?

-umm, my beardies mated the second week in April and the female layed eggs on May 14th so I think that's around 3 weeks or a month.

lol, actually I HATE math... heehee ummm, after your beardies mate it'll take about a month untill the female lays and the about another 2-1/2 months untill the eggs hatch.
