Midnight blizzard....update

skmcwilliams Oct 30, 2006 10:06 AM

I have been working with this morph for a few years now. Always felt that it was a line bred trait, and have gotten consistent dark charcoal colors. This little cutie came out of the egg last week and is by far the blackest leo I have hatched, it has black eyes also. Most of my midnights I hatch come out with varying degrees of darkness and then either lighten or darken through out juvie and adult stages. But this guy is black. Anyone else have their blizzards hatch out this black? It will be interesting to see what happens as he/she grows. Just wanted to share.

Thanks, I agree but at this point there is some transparency to their skin as it is paper thin when they are this young so that is why It will be interesting to see once he grows up if he/she will go completely black or will lighten up. I will keep my fingers crossed This pic is of my original midnight and is the grand father to this guy. Unfortunately he has since passed away I was never able to reproduce his blackness so I am hoping this baby brings it back...

If you ever have some nice ones to sell, I am definitely interested. Once I get settled in Cali, I will have more room. They're so beautiful!
