What to feed an 8 foot burm?

Tugi Oct 30, 2006 11:35 AM

I do reptile rescue and just aquired a 8 foot albino burm female from a local animal control center. She was found alongside some railroad tracks, along with another dead snake. She has a URI and has been seen by a vet and needs antibiotic injections every three days for the next few weeks. When she's all better, we'll be looking for a home for her.

She just had her second injection, and I'm going to try and feed her today or tommorrow. What would a good prey item be for a snake of this size who hasn't eaten a meal in god knows how long? I am planning to feed either f/t or prekilled.

my 7 foot indian's are eating sm-med rabbit's with no problem.
but i wouldn't feed the animal anything untill the RI has cleared up. she would probably just turn her nose up at it anyway.
