Adding a second turtle

We have a yellow bellied silder that is about 7" and ar trying to add a red eared slider that is about 3". Is this too big of difference? What should we try?

eventually you will bea boe to put them together 9when th RES is full grown. how big is the tank? if it was a pond that would be ok. if you want both turts. then raise the RES seperatly until it is full grown or buy a full grown one and then introduce it. try to get a female RES so it doesn't fight, they arn't extremely territorial, but still try to get a female. also, if u do that, take both turts out and rearange the tank and introduce the new turtle first so the one u have now doesn't feel so comfortable it "bullys" the RES.

Hmm...my suggestion is to buy one of those mesh dividers ment for breeding fish (I think) and separate the tank for a couple weeks. When the turtles get used to the fact that they're not alone, you could removie the divider. But you should probably keep it there for feeding.
