iwish7284 Oct 30, 2006 06:55 PM

my BP is missing scales on his head. I have fed live a few times but none got his head. I'm not sure why he's missing them but its getting worse. Any suggestions are welcome

i've never posted pics on here so im not sure if this html will work

Don't hold what I say true or right. But I have seen this on some of mine and the conclusion I came to is the top shinny part of the scale came off in the last shed or some other time. What I did was put in a humidity box to raise the humidity and the next shed it was fine. So if it was in the last shed just look at the shed if you still have it and you will see them. I would not be too worried about it. In my opinion

I have seen this too in a couple of our ball pythons. Did yours shed recently? One bp we have has had this problem once or twice, where the shiny part of a few scales comes off with the shed. I have another who had a full scale come off the top of his head with the shed. Just make sure to raise the humidity during your snake's next shed and it should be fine.
