I've always heard it's best to put the male in the females box.

For your other question - do not put two females in with one male. The females can get stressed that way and might not want to mate as a result from what I've read.

Some people put two males in with one female, so the males will start competing with each other and get 'in the mood' a little more.

During one breeding season, you can put one male in one female's cage for a few weeks or months, and then put that same male in another female's cage (one male can breed many females, but just not in the same cage at the same time).

I put my males in the females cage. A lot of people say to put the males in the female's cage, but due to cage sizes, I can't get away with that because my females won't fit in the males cages. I've heard of both ways being successful, just whichever works for you.

Also, as for multiple females, I prefer not to. As mentioned, can cause stress on the females, but also can put too much snake in a very small space. For example 2 big females 1 male in a cage that fits 1 female comfortably.

I like doing 1 male-1 female at a time. That way it is easier to ensure that he is getting enough sperm inside her and courting her enough to make sure she ovulates. If you have 2 females available, he will probably go back and forth, possibly not getting enough sperm in either of them, and then you might have 2 litters of slugs.... OUCH.

Just my opinion, but everybody has success with different techniques. The best way is to expirement and find what works for you. Just one tip of advice, don't get greedy. It's going to require PATIENCE!

Best of luck
