I have had Trish for a year now. She has a spectacular growth ring that I am pretty proud of. She was a rescue that I took in last year and had dry shell rot. She is also one of my favorites because she has the neatest personality.

cute turtle.. but she looks like she has some pyramiding going on.
She and her buddies shells were deformed already when I got them. They were kept under a heat lamp with little water, on wood chips. They were both impacted when I got them. The other female was showing symptoms of edema then too. SHe is now doing great with too, but lives in Wisconsin with a more experienced keeper. This is how Trish looked a year ago. I thought she might be a he then and was calling her Tristan.

Yeah, three Toed Box Turtles are great pets! I'll post some pix of mine. She looks happy by the way
Thanks, Leo

Oh my gosh! After you posted the photo of him from 1 year ago I completely remember now.
You've done a great job with this one, he looks sooo much better today than 1 year ago.
Feels good doesn't it? To help one like you've done & see it flourish.

Where did I get HE from?

I'm sure you got the he from me! I thought I had a male at first and called her Tristan, but then it became obvious that Tristan was a Trish!
Your one year photo clearly shows the extreme differences in shell improvement!
Very nice looking boxie; and you should feel very proud of the excellent job you have done!

Thank you very much for your kind words. I am really pleased with her progress. The only thing I wasn't able to do for her was save the tip of her tail. Several layers of skin that she couldn't shed slowly cut off the circulation to the tip. After removing as much of the tissue as possible about half of her tail was saved, but the other half had already died.
