new sulcata

ch23119 Oct 31, 2006 11:11 PM

I'm sure people have heard this question, but please help me out. I adopted a sulcata tortoise recently and intend to keep it until either it or I dies. It's small at about 2 inches and I want some diet advice. How much should I be feeding it, and what should I be feeding it at this size? I've read about the importance of grazing and such, so I have timothy and alphafa hay, but he really seems romaine and others less healthy foods. Any help would be great because I am used to dealing with water turtles, like common and alligator snappers.

I have a sulcata but I haven't raised her from a baby.
Frankly the best advice I can think of off the top of my head is for you to google the Sulcata Station web site & read what they have on raising youngsters.
They are not vets but their website is very helpful to any age sulcata.
