If someone said that they had a Hog Island Boa crossed with a Columbian Boa for sale, what size would you expect this to get? Answerable?

I would say no, not definitely.

Since it is a cross, it might take more after one parent than the other, but it's impossible to tell which, or if it will be somewhere in between. You can't say "ok, if it's 1/2 BCI and 1/2 hog island, it will get a little bit bigger than a hog but smaller than a BCI"...

The crosses COULD get just as large as a normal BCI, or COULD be as small as the smallest hog island. If you were trying to sell them, I would point out that the snake is a cross and "can grow as large as" the normal maximum size of a BCI, but will "probably" be smaller. Probably no good way to predict which parent it will take after, size-wise.
