Genetics ?

If a BP is born from a clutch that was sired by a normal looking pastel who was from a pastel and pied breeding, is there any chance of the BP is het for pied? If it is I know it's a long shot, but I'm too brain fried to puzzle it out on my own. I am not sure if it's a high chance or lower if you could help me out, I have a cold and my noggin isn't working too well today.
thanks! :D

If the normal looking pastel you are talking about came from a pastel that came from a pastel X pied breeding, then it would have a 50% chance of being het pied. Here is another way to explain it:

original breeding
Pastel X Pied = pastel het pieds het pieds

Pastel from original breeding X normal
Pastel from original breeding would be 100% het pied, so any offspring from a breeding to a normal would be 50% pos het pieds, about half of which will be pastel and the other half would be normal pos hets.

Hope that helps.
