I think they have their seasons mixed up

Well....these lovelies decided to fast for four months (the entire summer)! The male has been acting a little berserk lately, cruising his enclosure a lot. So while cleaning this big girls cage I put her in with him, and well.....he got busy quick. They have now been locked up over an hour!! Ya think they are a little confused?

Very interesting! Are you going to brumate them or see if the female develops eggs over the next few months. I know most live bearing vipers such as rattlesnakes, copperheads, and water moccassins are fall breeders and the females hibernate and then become pregnant from retained sperm the following spring. Another mystery about hognose snakes to be solved. Kevin Fisher
