WECT (Wilmington, N Carolina) 24 October 06 Local Friendly Alligator to Get New Home
Sneads Ferry: Plans for a new home for a friendly alligator are almost complete.
Buddy the alligator lives in the Mill Creek area of Sneads Ferry. State wildlife officials wanted to move Buddy out of the neighborhood but realized he was too tame to survive in the wild on his own. It turns out residents had been feeding him for years.
Now the state has approved plans by the Cape Fear Serpentarium in Wilmington to provide a home for Buddy. The facility just has to construct a new enclosure for him.
Those plans are now in the works and the serpentarium hopes to have them finished by the end of the month.
